2011 Ashbrook Estate Chardonnay

This excellent Chardonnay was 50% fermented and matured in brand new French oak barriques for 8 months then bottle aged a further 12 months before release. Brilliant pale straw colour with a distinctive greenish tinge around the edges and very pale straw hue. The nose opens up with fleshy white peach aromas followed by some nectarine, very subtle toasty oak and citrus. Mouthfilling white peach and tropical fruit flavours dominate the palate followed by some light toasty oak, cashew and spice. Clean crisp finish with a mouthfeel verging on almost creamy like. Excellent depth with long ripe white peach, tropical fruit, cashew and spicy oak aftertaste.
Drink over the next 3-4 years (2013-2017).
