2011 Alkoomi Cabernet Sauvignon

Matured for 18 months in French oak of which one third was new. Opaque black dark red colour with dark red hue. The nose displays ripe blackcurrant and cedar top notes followed by some liquorice, earth and spice. Medium to full bodied with rich ripe blackcurrant flavours prevalent over a back drop of black cherry, cedar, earth and spice. Dryish slightly chalky tannins assert some presence. Aftertaste of blackcurrant, black cherry, spicy cedar and earth. Cellar 5-6 years. Alc 13.8%
