2010 Salomon Estate Finniss River Cabernet Sauvignon

Superb inky black colour with a dark crimson red black tinged hue. Nosing reveals a classic Cabernet Sauvignon scented profile of lifted blackcurrants, subtle black olives and liquorice with underlying cedary cigar box like characters and spice end notes. Medium to full bodied the palate has loads of rich blackcurrant fruit yet still retains the varieties renown elegant structural feel. Flavours of subtle bay leaf, cedary tobacco and spice follow. Solidly built but fine grained tannins are for the most part concealed by the wealth of blackcurrant fruit. Excellent depth with a very long blackcurrant, cedary cigar box, subtle bay leaf and spice aftertaste.
