2010 Rockbare Tideway Shiraz

Tideway is Rockbare’s first single vineyard wine and coming from the outstanding 2010 McLaren Vale vintage winemaker Marty O’Flaherty couldn’t have wished for better start to showcase this stunning McLaren Vale Shiraz. Such was the concentration of the fruit that this wine has been able to easily absorb the 24 months maturation in new American oak.

About as flamboyant and lavish as McLaren Vale Shiraz gets this is a hedonist's desert island wine.

Outstanding colour saturation displaying an impenetrable inky black core with a very deep dark red black hue. Perfumed aromas of dark plums, liquorice and ripe blackberries waft from the glass followed by some dark chocolate, vanillin oak and spice. The palate boasts enormous richness and power along with a thick voluptuous texture. Bold and intensely concentrated flavours of liquorice, ripe blackberries and dark plum invade every crevasse of the palate with a backdrop of vanillin oak, dark chocolate and spice. Velvet smooth tannins. Exceptionally long, plush aftertaste of ripe blackberries, liquorice, dark plums, subtle dark chocolate, lightly toasted vanillin oak and spice.
