2010 Pewsey Vale The Contours Riesling

Pewsey Vale’s Contours Riesling is sourced from old vines on the coolest slope of the vineyard and is only released after 5 years bottle age.

Brilliant pale straw colour with a very distinctive greenish tinge around the edges and a watery hue. The nose shows excellent intensity with top notes of citrus and toasty kerosene like characters overshadowing subtle dried honey and spice notes. Mouthfilling flavours of citrus, lime and toasty characters with kerosene and spice kicking in on the back palate. Superb textural feel and concentration. Dry finish with lively acidity providing a great spine. Long aftertaste of lime, citrus, toasty kerosene, subtle dried honey and spice.
Drink over the next 6-8 years.

Pale, bright straw-green; the fragrant bouquet has notes of dried flowers and even a hint of spice/musk, the palate now on the development pathway with not obvious end in sight; you have to wait for the aftertaste to find all the wine has to offer so far, as citrus flavours ricochet around the mouth. Drink by 2025.
