Maturation took place in a combination of 90% French and 10% American oak hogsheads for approximately 14 months.

‘A beautifully balanced iconic Barossa Shiraz’

Opaque inky black colour with a deep dark red black tinged hue. The nose displays perfumed aromas of liquorice intermixed with ripe blackberries and black cherries underpinned by some subtle toasty vanillin cedar, dark chocolate and spice. Full bodied and rich the palate possesses excellent fruit purity delivering concentrated, but far from heavy handed, flavours of ripe blackberries, dark plums and liquorice dominate over some very well integrated vanillin cedar like characters and spice. Velvet smooth tannins. Outstanding depth with very long liquorice, blackberry, dark plum and spicy vanillin cedar aftertaste.

Other Reviews….
Full crimson-purple; while the provenance of the wine ensures there will be an abundance of flavours, there is a tension within the fruit expression that adds an X-factor, drawing out the finish, and leaving the mouth fresh. All in all, a special wine from a special vintage destined for a very long life.
