2010 Heggies Merlot

A beautifully balanced Merlot matured for 7 months in 23% new French Barriques with the balance being in one to three year old French Barriques. Very deep dark red black colour with dark red hue. The nose exhibits aromas of dark mulberries along with a touch of blackcurrant followed by cedar, some light earth and spicy end notes. Medium bodied but filled with an elegantly structured rich fruit profile of dark mulberries, blackcurrant and a touch of liquorice supported by some cedary tobacco with a spicy back palate. Dryish finish with very fine grained well integrated tannins and long ripe mulberry, blackcurrant, cedary tobacco and spice aftertaste.
Cellar 4-5 years (2017-2018).
