"Impressive!" This is the only word that comes to mind for Senejac. The Tesseron family has imprinted its quality all over the Estate, just as they have done with Pontet Canet and Lafon Rochet. Senejac 2009 had been a favourite bargain here at Nicks so when the 2010 Primeurs arrived it was at the front of the tasting queue. As one of the most recommended wines of the initial campaign it flew off the shelves. We've gone for another round.

Opaque black dark crimson red colour with dark crimson red hue. The nose displays blackcurrant and violet top notes followed by some cedar, subtle earth and spice. Medium bodied with an elegant refined mouthfeel the palate sports plenty of blackcurrant and dark mulberry fruit with earthy cedar and spice on the back palate. Slightly dryish but otherwise very fine grained tannins. Very good length with long blackcurrant, earthy cedar and spice aftertaste.
Cellar 6-8 years (2020-2022).
Alc 13.5%

Other Reviews...
Really ripe almost jammy sweet fruit with raspberries, black currant and vanilla. Some fresh citrusy notes too. Full on the palate with ripe fruit and soft texture. Fine smooth tannins and good length. This chateau always makes serious wine. Drink from 2016.
