The 'Limited Release' refers to Brini’s flagship wine, produced from vines planted in 1947 and 1964. The packaging is exactly the same as the standard Brini Sebastian Shiraz, the only distinguishing element being the words “Limited Release”, so be careful which bottle you pick up! Whilst being full bodied and displaying abundant levels of fruit, this wine still maintains a sense of refinement - a trademark characteristic of the Brini reds. Maturation took place in French and American oak for 18 months.
Opulent and rich, yet far from overweight this is a very classy McLaren Vale Shiraz with tons of finesse.
Totally opaque inky black core with a deep dark crimson red black tinged hue. The nose displays good perfumed lift with scents of liquorice, dark chocolate and ripe blackberries dominate over vanillin cedar, light earth and spice. Full bodied with a round supple texture the palate has a touch more richness and the fruit is more luscious than the standard Brini Sebastian Shiraz. Mouthfilling flavours of liquorice, ripe blackberries, dark chocolate, vanillin oak and spice glide across the palate like liquid silk. Velvet smooth perfectly integrated tannins. Outstanding power and persistence finishing with a very long aftertaste of liquorice, ripe blackberries, dark chocolate, vanillin oak and spice.
Superb drinking now or cellar 5-6 years.
