Deep very dark red colour with a bright brick red hue. Showing excellent intensity the nose features aromas of dark plum and subtle liquorice with a smoky clove overlay followed by meaty characters with spicy fennel end notes. Very supple in the mouth the palate has flavours of dark plums intermixed with stemmy clove and smoky dried meat characters which are followed by some spicy fennel and toast like characters. Slippery and soft in texture with velvety tannins the wine finishes with an aftertaste of smoky clove, dried meats, toasty fennel like characters and spice.
Drink over the next 1-2 years.
Alc. 12.5%

Other Reviews….
100% whole bunch-fermented, matured for 2 years in used French puncheons. Has retained good colour; the freshness of the wine is a delight, as is its silky texture and - needless to say - the complexity of its smorgasbord of warmly spiced red and black fruits, oak and tannins sewn into the lining of the fruit. The cork is high quality. 1000 dozen made. Drink 2035.
