2009 Zonte's Footstep Z-Force Shiraz Petit Sirah

Zonte’s Footstep Z-Force pays tribute to a special Australian Army unit created in World War Two to operate behind enemy lines. Z-Force's members were from many countries and specialised in unique guerrilla warfare. A blend of 85% Shiraz and 15% Petite Sirah. Totally opaque saturated inky black colour with deep black dark crimson hue. Intense aromas of black cherry, liquorice and black plum followed by some toasty oak, confectionary and spice. Super dense and with monumental inky concentration the palate delivers mouthfilling flavours of ripe black cherries, liquorice and black plum supported by a spicy cedar back palate. Firmish structured tannins but in perfect balance. Superb depth with long black cherry, liquorice, toast and spice aftertaste.
