2009 The Edge Pinot Noir

A very accessible, full bodied, fruit driven style refecting the warm vintage
This is the second label of Escarpment. Bright semi translucent crimson red mauve colour with mauve hue. The nose is quite perfumed and very much dominated by primary fruit aromas of dark cherry, strawberry and dark plum followed by a touch of anise as an end note. The palate has excellent weight with a joosy like texture displaying rich ripe primary fruit favours of cherry, dark plum and sweet strawberry followed by a hint of liquorice and spice. Excellent power wave. Velvet smooth soft tannins with long aftertaste of cherry, strawberry & dark plum.
