Located at the top west of the South Island, Nelson is New Zealand's eighth largest wine region, though it's traditionally been associated with apples, tobacco and hops. Nelson gets signifcantly more rainfall than neighbouring and dry Marlborough, however this is compensated by a northern exposure giving it the second highest total hours of sunshine in the country.
Brilliant very pale straw colour with water like hue. The nose displays lifted aromas of gooseberry, green apple and citrus followed by some mineral end notes and a hint of passionfruit. The palate delivers great intensity and concentration with mouthflling favours of ripe gooseberry, citrus, passionfruit, mineral and lime bursting onto the palate. Clean crisp acid fnish displaying excellent length and a very long aftertaste of ripe gooseberry, citrus and mineral.
Drink over the next 2 years (2010-2012)
