This wine is Ben Riggs' take on Chablis and it’s an excellent first up effort

Brilliant pale straw colour with watery hue. The nose displays delicate Chablis like notes of pear, biscuit and finty mineral like characters. The palate is very dry and relatively light in weight for an Australian Chardonnay which is in line with the style Riggs is aiming for. Flavours of pear, citrus and mineral with just a hint of hazelnut emerging on the fnish. Clean crisp acidity with dry fnish. Good length with aftertaste of pear and mineral followed by some nutty characters. It’s probably not as mineral infused as the real thing but in terms of its lightness across the palate and texture it’s a great impersonation. It would make an ideal ring-in at a blind Chablis tasting.
