2009 Magpie Estate The Election Shiraz

This Shiraz has been aged in new and older French and American oak for 22 months. Opaque black dark red colour with deep dark red hue. Perfumed aromas of dark plum and liquorice arise from the glass followed by some dark chocolaty oak, subtle earthiness and vanillin spice. Full bodied with a rich opulent mouthfeel the palate boasts a generous flavour profile of ripe blackberries, dark plum and liquorice over an earthy vanillin oak background with a spicy pepper like finish. Velvet smooth tannins. Long ripe blackberry, liquorice, vanillin oak, subtle earth and spicy pepper aftertaste.
Drink over the next 5-6 years.
