The tiny village of Watervale (population 246), is a sub-district of the Clare Valley, renowned for its Rieslings. Despite the 2009 heatwave that challenged the vintage, the winemaking team at Jim Barry were delighted with the resulting wines. Riper fruit flavours at lower sugar levels (hence lower alcohols), coupled with high natural acidity are so far the common characteristics of the 2009 Rieslings from the district.

Brilliant pale straw colour with water like hue. Aromas of lime and citrus followed by some spice notes. The palate displays good weight and concentration of flavour. Lime and citrus dominate followed by some orange rind and mineral on the back palate. Clean, crisp acid finish, with long aftertaste of lime, citrus and spice.
Drink now or cellar 3-4 years.
