Winemaker Kevin Judd has employed a number of different winemaking techniques including wild ferment, aging in older French oak for 12 months, lees stirring and partial malo-latic fermentation to produce a very sophisticated rendition of Sauvignon Blanc.
Bright pale straw colour with greenish tinge and watery hue. The nose boasts fabulous intensity with aromas of herbaceous grassy gooseberry and pencil shavings followed by some capsicum end notes. Outstanding palate concentration with mouthfilling flavours of herbaceous green grassy characters, unripe gooseberry and cedary pencil shavings followed by some spice, capsicum and citrus. Superb mouthfeel, almost creamy like with a clean dry finish. Long herbaceous grassy gooseberry, pencil shavings and spice aftertaste. An outstanding Sauvignon Blanc possessing great length, persistence and texture with a level of complexity above and beyond your average run of the mill Marlborough Sauvignon Blanc.
