2009 Catena Malbec

Totally opaque black dark purple colour with deep dark purple crimson hue. The nose is not as lifted as the Alamos with aromas of ripe dark cherries, some violets, cedar, a touch of liquorice and spice present. Medium bodied with a sense of elegance but possessing good richness the palate delivers flavours of black cherries, dark ripe blackberry, liquorice and spicy cedar. Fine grained structured tannins. Good depth with long black cherry, blackberry and spicy cedar aftertaste.
Cellar 4-5 years.
