2009 Ballast Stone Estate Shiraz

Matured in a combination of American and French oak this wine displays an opaque black purple colour with deep dark purple red hue. Youthful aromas of inky blackberry and dark plum followed by some spice. Soft and fleshy in texture the palate displays generous flavours of blackberry, dark plum and dark chocolate followed by a touch of liquorice and some spice on the back palate. Soft very fine grained tannins with aftertaste of ripe blackberry, dark plum and dark chocolate.
Drink over the next 2-3 years (2011-2014).
