The Eddies Old Vine Shiraz is sourced from 97 and 58 year old vines originally planted by Eddie Staehr and Eddie Leibich with total production being only 130 cases. The wine is matured for 22 months in 25% new and 25% old French and 25% new and 25% old American Oak Hogshead barrels.

‘A superb old vine Shiraz boasting great richness and a textured opulence.’

Totally opaque inky black dark red colour with a deep dark red black hue. The nose exudes dark ripe plum, black cherry and liquorice aromas followed by some dark chocolate, toasty vanillin oak and spice notes. Full bodied and decadently rich the palate is packed with voluptuously textured fruit delivering a flavour profile of dark plums, blackberries, liquorice and dark chocolate over toasty vanillin oak and spice. Expansive mouthfeel with velvet smooth tannins. Superb concentration and depth with very long black plum, dark chocolate, liquorice, vanillin oak, subtle earth and spice aftertaste.
Drink over the next 5-6 years (2014-2020).
Alc 14.8%
