Based in the Murray Darling region, the Forbes family have established a reputation with their Zilzie Estate range for delivering great everyday drinking wines at modest prices. They have now launched a regional collection range of wines which aims to source exceptional parcels fruit from some of Australia’s best known wine regions such as Coonawarra & the Barossa, specifically targeting the varieties that those regions excel at. With these two excellent releases they have admirably achieved their goals.

Great varietal and regional character at a price that’s hard to beat.
A dash of Merlot has been included in this wine and it spent 12 months maturing in French oak before being bottled. Opaque black purple colour with dark crimson red hue. Aromas of cassis, dark plum and confectionary with a hint of cedar. Full bodied with generous mouthfilling palate flavours of blackcurrant, ripe plum and dark chocolate followed by some cedar and spice back palate characters. Fine grained tannins with aftertaste of blackcurrant, plum and spice.
