2008 Voyager Estate Shiraz

A blend of 95% Shiraz and 5% Malbec that was matured in a combination of French and American oak, 40% of which was new, for a period of 12 months.
Opaque dark purple crimson red colour with deep purple crimson red hue. Aromas of liquorice allsorts, plum, spice and confectionary – a little closed at present. Medium to full bodied palate with flavours of ripe blackberry, aniseed and spice with a touch of pepper on the finish. The wine is lacking some persistence. Very fine grained tannins with meaty, blackberry, liquorice and spice aftertaste.
