2008 The Quick Tree Frog Heathcote Shiraz

To all intents and purposes, this unusually named Shiraz is a product of boutique Heathcote producer, Sanguine Estate. Fruit was sourced from vines of varying ages located on the property and vinified at Sanguine winery by resident winemaker, Mark Hunter.

Opaque dark red black colour with deep dark red black hue showing good glass cling. The nose displays lifted perfumed aromas of liquorice allsorts, ripe blackberry, violets and confectionary. A powerhouse of flavour – the palate excels delivering a concentrated explosive flavour experience – blackberry, liquorice, confectionary and aniseed flavours are followed by some blackpepper on the back palate displaying superb depth. Fine grained tannins, slightlydry, but in perfect balance to the volumes of fruit. Very long aftertaste of blackpepper, liquorice and blackberry.
Drink now or cellar 3-4 years.
