2008 Skillogalee Single Vineyard Riesling

Skillogalee have been making quality Riesling in the Clare Valley since 1976. The vineyard's location is one of the highest in South Australia (almost 500 metres above sea level). The cool conditions prolong the growing season which, combined with extremely low yields, produces intense Riesling flavours and aromas. One undesirable peculiarity of the vineyard also occurs during vintage, when large numbers of hungry Kangaroos descend, camping between the rows and feasting on the ripe fruit.

Very pronounced lime top note followed by a hint of orange blossom and spice showing strong varietal character. The palate does not disappoint. Very strong flavours of lime and orange rind followed by a hint of mandarin and lemon. Crisp, balanced acid backbone. Lime and orange aftertaste.
