2008 Shirvington Cabernet Sauvignon

Totally opaque dark red black colour with a very dark red hue. Aromas of ripe blackcurrants and liquorice fill the nostrils followed by vanillin cedar, earthy leather and spice. Rich, dense and concentrated the palate is awash with cassis, black cherry and liquorice flavours which merge into earthy vanillin oak underscored by old leather and spice. There’s still some chewiness to the ripe firm tannins. Excellent power with a long conclusion of cassis, liquorice, earth, leather and spicy vanillin oak.
Drink over the next 1-2 years.
