2008 Pewsey Vale Eden Valley Gewurztraminer

This Gewurztraminer has been matured for 4 months in older French oak barriques. Very pale straw, almost water like colour with watery hue. Subtle aromas of lychee, musk, tropical fruit and confectionary. The palate is on the lean side for Gewurztraminer with restrained flavours of lime, grapefruit and mineral – much leaner than it’s Alsace counterparts lacking the richness and texture the varietal is capable of delivering. Clean crisp dry finish. Aftertaste of lime, spice and mineral. A very lean example of Gewurztaminer that will build tertiary flavours with medium term cellaring.
