David and Dot Newton's vineyard is located a short detour inland from Port Campbell and the Twelve Apostles on the Great Ocean Road. Vines were first planted in 1998. The climate is very similar to the Mornington Peninsula and so Chardonnay, Pinot Noir, Pinot Grigio , Sauvignon Blanc and Shiraz constitute the main plantings. The fruit for this wine was basket pressed and fermented in stainless steel.
Brilliant water like colour – showing its vibrant youth. Very pronounced nose of ripe passionfruit followed by ripe gooseberry over a grassy, herbaceous end note. There is some residual sweetness on the palate displaying generous ripe gooseberry and tropical fruit flavours over a ripe passionfruit finish. Clean acid finish. Very intense and long aftertaste of ripe passionfruit, ripe gooseberry and spice.
Cellar 1-2 years(2010-2011)
