2008 Moss Wood Mornington Peninsula Pinot Noir

Semi translucent crimson mauve colour with crimson mauve hue. The nose is quite aromatic displaying aromas of dark spicy cherry, strawberry, cedar and violets with just a touch of anise emerging – a very good sniff. The palate comes as somewhat of a disappointment being relatively lean with restrained dark cherry, spice and cedar flavours with a very dry finish. Fine grained tannin structure but very dry. Moderate mineral, spice and cedar aftertaste missing the power wave the varietal can deliver.
