2008 Mastermind The Pawn Merlot

The colour is disappointing. Brick red crimson colour with brick red hue. Semi translucent. Aroma of spice, mulberry and confectionary followed by a hint of leather and earth. The palate delivers unexpected flavour. Spicy palate flavours of confectionary over a chocolate back palate with mulberry overlay. Velvet smooth tannins. Mulberry confectionary aftertaste.

Semi-translucent crimson brick red colour with brick red mauve hue. The wine displays aromas of very ripe plum followed by some raisins and spice. The palate is very ripe, almost jammy with flavours of super ripe plum jam, dark chocolate, confectionary and spice. The fruit is quite sweet. Very soft tannins with aftertaste of plum jam, confectionary and vanilla.
