This years Mahi Sauvignon Blanc has been produced using fruit from six different vineyards. The final blend was made solely from free-run juice, fermented cool to retain the fruit characters and then held on yeast lees for three months to gain palate richness and texture. A small portion of this was also matured in older French oak adding further complexity. Very pale straw colour with water like hue. Lifted nose of ripe gooseberry and passionfruit followed by a hint of tropical fruit. Generous and very pronounced varietal palate flavours of passionfruit and gooseberry over a light tropical fruit and citrus background. Mouthfilling but not overbearing as sometimes the varietal can be. Clean acid finish. Very long aftertaste of gooseberry and tropical fruit. Outstanding!
