2008 Leconfield McLaren Vale Shiraz

Matured for 20 months in French oak this wine displays a totally opaque saturated black purple colour, with black heart and very deep black purple hue. Aromas of very ripe blackberry and dark plum followed by dark chocolate and vanilla. The palate displays great weight and concentration with flavours of ripe blackberry and dark plum followed by some liquorice with some charry toasted oak making an appearance on the back palate. Fine grained tannins with aftertaste of blackberry, dark plum, spice and charry oak. The charry oak component is a little too prominent at present.
