Tasting note: Dailuaine has an illustrious Speyside history while also producing a full-bodied, fruity distillate with hints of smoke and spice. Lady of the Glen bring us a hugely flavousrome expression matured in an ex-Bourbon cask, with a final finish in a Pedro Ximenez Sherry Hogshead for over 18 months. Add PX to Dailuaine's already ample malt and you get liquid raisin cake, dates, fruit'n'nut chocolate and vanilla on the nose. In the mouth, it's full bodied and borderline decadent with lots of juicy dried fruitiness, the sweetness checked by lively spices, leather, tobacco and fine tannins. The sugars return late. PX can easily out do a whisky, but it meets a fair match here. Kudos to Gregor Hannah who has clearly bottled this at just the right time. 56.3% Alc./Vol. 270 bottles. Non chill filtered.

Notes from Gregor Hannah... On the Nose: Full and intense with notes of strawberries and cream, pork pies and new oak furniture. On the Palate: Creamy and luscious with notes of candied fruits and chocolate raisins soaked in sherry. Finish: Long and lingering sweetness with a sugar-coated pecan nut character.
