Koonowla is one of the Clare Valley’s largest and most historic vineyard properties, first planted to vines in the 1890s. After a disastrous fire in 1926, the operation converted to grain and wool production until the replanting of vineyards commenced in 1985, expanding further under the direction of Andrew and Booie Michael. The pair have secured the services of two of Australia’s most highly regarded winemakers, David O’Leary and Nick Walker, with previous vintages of their Riesling having received high praise world wide. The 2008 is no exception, with winemaker David O'Leary extracting the best of the Clare with this aromatic wine.
