2008 Grosset Springvale Watervale Riesling
Bright straw colour with green tinge and pale straw hue. Superb lifted nose of lime, rose petal, orange and a hint of talc – showing classic Riesling characteristics. The palate continues to deliver with flavours of lemon, lime and orange, followed by unripe mandarin and just a hint of confectionary on the back palate. Excellent length and structure. Very long aftertaste of lime, unripe mandarin and orange.
Cellar 5-8 years (2013-2016)

The comparison between Grosset Polish Hill and Springvale (vineyard) Watervale is endlessly fascinating, as is the lesser price of the Springvale. This year it has a more effusive bouquet than the Polish Hill; the expressive lime juice fruit flavours also make this wine ready to go now, but without compromising its longevity.
