No Anaperenna blend was produced in 2008 due to the fact that the Cabernet fruit was heat affected. As a result several parcels of top Shiraz normally reserved for the Anaperenna blend were absorbed into the 2008 Bishop. The wine was matured in a combination of seasoned French (90%) and American (10%) oak for a period of 14 months. Outstanding super saturated black purple colour with black purple hue – totally opaque. Lifted aromas of freshly crushed blackberries, dark plum, liquorice allsorts and confectionary – somewhat closed at present. Very youthful palate delivering inky blackberry and plum flavours followed by some confectionary with a very spicy peppery back palate. Dryish fine grained tannins but in balance. Long aftertaste of spice, blackberry and black pepper. A very youthful Bishop that needs time to settle in.
Cellar 5-6 years (2014-2015)
