2008 Douglas Laing & Co. Provenance Glengoyne 11 Year Old Single Malt Scotch Whisky (700ml)

Part of the Provenance 2020 collection, this youngish Glengoyne is one of 369 bottles charged from a single refill hogshead. Zero peat and Golden Promise barley are the key characteristics here. The distillery also lays claim to the slowest distillation in Scotland, and indeed attempts are made to ensure maximum copper contact in order to guarantee the resultant new-make is gentle, sweet and 'ethereally fruity'. This doesn't mean it's a particulalry light spirit, in fact, there's sufficient weight to handle ex-Sherry butts – a signature of Edrington’s distilleries.
