'When I see a weed I see the Devil' is an old viticulturalist's mantra, which makes the labelling of this wine rather quizzical. However, at Dandelion vineyards, we're told they actually encourage the dandelion to grow amongst the vines as it suppresses winter weeds and provides mulch in summer. This label represents a new venture between marketing gurus Zar Brooks and Brad Rey, with Zar’s wife, Elena as the winemaker.

Opaque purple crimson red colour with purple mauve hue. Perfumed aromas of ripe plum, liquorice allsorts, confectionary and vanilla displaying excellent intensity. Generous opulent palate with flavours of spice, ripe plum, aniseed and toast with some peppery notes on the back palate. Good weight. Fine grained well integrated tannins with aftertaste of ripe plum, liquorice allsorts, spice and pepper.

Other Reviews....
Deep crimson colour; must surely have been picked before the heatwave, its medium-bodied frame charged with supple plum, blackberry and black cherry fruit; French oak handling exemplary, as are the tannins.
