2008 Chain of Ponds The Ledge Shiraz

Matured in French oak for 18 months. Totally opaque inky black dark red colour with dark red hue. The nose shows excellent intensity with dark chocolate, liquorice and mocha aromas followed by some dark ripe plum and vanillin oak. Soft, round and plush the palate delivers voluptuous flavours of dark chocolate, dark plum and liquorice followed by some vanillin mocha oak like characters. Silky smooth tannins combine with low acidity to create an opulently texture. Long ripe dark plum, dark chocolate, liquorice and vanillin oak aftertaste.
Drink over the next 3-4 years.
