Montepulciano d'Abruzzo is a grape variety as well as a type of red wine made from the same grapes in the Abruzzo region of east-central Italy. The quality of Montepulciano wines produced here has been steadily improving over the last decade.

A surprisingly well made Montepulciano that delivers plenty of flavour at a very friendly price point.
This new world styled Italian quaffer exhibits excellent dark crimson red purple colour with dark crimson mauve hue. Aromas of dark cherry, plum and spice followed by some earth end notes. Good weight and palate length with flavours of dark cherry, spice and plum. Dry finish. Fine grained soft tannins with aftertaste of dark cherry and spice along with a touch of earth also emerging.
Very drinkable now or cellar 1-2 years (2010-2012)
13.0% Alc.
