2008 Balnaves of Coonawarra Cabernet Merlot

A blend of 83% Cabernet Sauvignon and 17% Merlot, the wine was matured for 16 months in 50% new and 50% second fill French oak. Opaque dark crimson red black colour with deep dark crimson hue. Aromas of ripe mulberry, blackcurrant and a touch of mint are supported by a cedar and spice background. Medium to full bodied the palate displays good weight and richness with flavours of ripe blackcurrant, cedar and spice. Firm, fine grained, dry tannin structure with aftertaste of blackcurrant, spice and cedar.
