While establishing his own vineyard, Mario Marson worked as winemaker at Jasper Hill Vineyard with Ron Laughton, so gaining an invaluable apprenticeship to the district. Mario's relatively young vines are already yielding excellent results.

A classy, refined Shiraz which has had 7% Viognier added to it. Medium body, very deep crimson colour with deep crimson hue. Delightful nose, with top note of violets, followed by blackberry, cedar, spice, dark cherries and dried apricots. The palate is very spicy - flavours of dark cherry are overlaid with mocha, dried apricot, spice, blackcurrant and chocolate. Fine grained tannins are perfectly balanced. Black pepper emerges on the back palate that runs through into a long aftertaste of mocha, dark chocolate, cherry and spice and finally the dried apricot character makes a finishing farewell.
