Mick Cann is one of Heathcote’s top winemakers but doesn’t get a lot of publicity due to the fact that he makes miniscule quantities. The production of 2007 St Michaels Shiraz was limited to only 3 hogsheads. That’s a total of approximately 80 dozen bottles. Matured in Russian and French oak.
Opaque black crimson colour with black crimson hue. Superb, lifted nose of cedar, vanilla, blackberry and violets. Explosive mouthfilling palate of blackberry, plum, vanilla and black pepper. Excellent weight and mouthfeel. Fine grained tannins. Exceptional length. Very long aftertaste of blackberry, violet infusions and black pepper. A classic Heathcote Shiraz.
