2007 St. Johns Road Blood & Courage Shiraz

The St. John's Road Greenock vineyard, which was established by the Helbig family in the 1880's, has a reputation for the production of high quality fruit, over the years supplying many of the leading wineries in the Barossa including Penfolds, Torbreck and Rockford. The company remains a family-owned business and employs Peter Schell from Spinifex as winemaker.

Very deep crimson colour with purple mauve hue. Superb nose with violet top note followed by blackberry, ripe plum, liquorice and vanilla. Full bodied palate, flavours of spice, vanilla and liquorice allsorts over a ripe plum background. Velvet tannins. Aftertaste of plum, spice and liquorice.
