Shaw & Smith have been producing their Sauvignon Blanc since 1990 and have established a reputation as one of Australia’s leading exponents of the varietal. 2007 was a warm and dry vintage in the Adelaide Hills and whilst the drought and Spring frosts reduced production in a number of key wine growing regions in South Australia, Adelaide Hills was not as dramatically affected.
A classic Adelaide Hills Sauvignon Blanc.
Bright pale straw colour with water like hue and a green tinge. The nose displays both elegance and distinct varietal character. Top note of ripe gooseberry followed by tropical fruit over a light grassy confectionary background. On the palate flavours of ripe gooseberry and tropical fruit are overlaid with a touch of ripe pineapple. Excellent length with strong varietal characteristics persisting. Crisp acid finish.
Cellar 1-2 years (2008-2009)
