Produced from Chenin Blanc, Vouvray is typically drunk young, however the greatest examples of the variety have been known to last well over a century as testified to by the great wines of Moulin Touchais, of which the last bottles of the hallowed 1959 vintage are still available. It remains one of the few wines we have rated 100 points and despite its age, is just approaching its peak! (See review here)

This release from Marc Bredif offers an excellent introduction to the youthful side of the style
Bright pale straw limey green colour with water like hue. Aromas of ripe pear and Jonathan apple followed by some spice and a hint of musk as an end note – quite perfumed. Rich mouthfilling palate flavours of Jonathan apple, pear and spice. Excellent weight and mouthfeel. Clean dry finish with aftertaste of ripe Jonathan apple, pear and a touch of spice.
Drink over the next 2-3 years (2012-2013)
