The fruit for this wine is sourced from Kaesler’s Matthew’s Block vineyard which was planted in 1985. The soil type on this site is red brown loam over clay and then over limestone rubble which is perfectly suited for Cabernet Sauvignon. The wine was matured in a combination of new, one & two year old French oak for 15 months and was neither fined nor filtered.

A big, opulently styled Barossa Cabernet.

Deep opaque purple red colour with purple mauve hue. The nose displays lifted aromas of freshly crushed blackcurrant and dark cherry with some confectionary and liquorice allsorts end notes. The palate is full bodied with generous ripe flavours of blackcurrant, liquorice, dark plum, confectionary and cedar. Excellent concentration with fine grained tannins and long aftertaste of liquorice allsorts, ripe blackcurrant and confectionary.
Cellar 3-4 years (2012-2013)
