2007 Deen De Bortoli Vat 4 Petit Verdot

Petit Verdot is a late ripening, traditional Bordeaux variety which doesn't perform well in cool climates, however, in warmer new world climates the variety is capable of producing Shiraz-like wines of great colour and aroma.

Vibrant purple colour with purple hue. Medium body. Lifted nose of black cherry, liquorice and anise. The palate displays flavours of ripe black cherry with a hint of liquorice. Fine grained tannins. Excellent balance. There is a 'joosy' textural quality on the palate. Aftertaste of liquorice, black cherry and spice. Great value everyday drinking.
