A blend of Nebbiolo (93%) with the balance being made up of Cabernet Sauvignon, Shiraz and Malbec that has been matured for 18 months in French oak. Deep very dark red colour with deep dark brick red hue. Very perfumed the nose offers up an intense aromatic profile of sweet ripe dark cherries and black plum followed by a hint of liquorice with some leather, cedar and spice also present – a superb complex sniff. Medium bodied with a round supple mouthfeel the palate exhibits mouthfilling flavours of ripe black cherries, dark plum and blackcurrant followed by some underlying cedar, leather and spice. Velvet smooth tannins beautifully interwoven with the fruit. Excellent length with long savoury black cherry, dark plum, cedar, subtle leather and spice aftertaste.
Drink over the next 3-4 years.

Other Reviews….
Light colour from Nebbiolo rather than the Cabernet Sauvignon/Shiraz/Malbec that complete the blend; a fragrant bouquet of tea, rose petal, spice and tar is followed by a richer, verging on sumptuous, palate before a savoury finish completes the circle. Drink by 2020.
