Not content with the success of just one vineyard, the owners of Chateau Lafite, Domaines Barons de Rothschild, have sought out specific sites around the globe that possess the terroir required to produce exciting New World wines with Lafite Rothschild's First Growth know-how. One of their most exciting projects is Los Vascos.

Bright crimson colour with crimson mauve hue. Medium body. The nose delivers a Classic Cabernet sniff, with strong top note of blackcurrant, followed by cedar, cassis and violet. The palate again is strongly inspired by the wines of Bordeaux, hardly surprising, given the Chateau Lafite Rothschild connection. The palate shows excellent length and depth, with flavours of spice, blackcurrant and liquorice over a confectionary background. Refined structure, supported by fine dry tannins. A remarkable value for money wine, delivering a taste profile that is quite different to the primary fruit flavours being delivered by its Aussie counterparts.
Cellar 3-4 years (2011-2012)
Alc/Vol: 13.8%
