A superb complex Riesling!

Spy Valley is a colloquial name for Marlborough’s Waihopai Valley, derived from the presence of a satellite communications monitoring base. Fertile, free draining, stoney soils result from successive floods and glacial outwash deposits over the previous 10,000 years. Eight varieties are grown over 360 acres.

A superb complex Riesling that has been made with a small percentage of Botrytised Riesling grapes. Brilliant pale straw colour with water like hue. Top note of lime, followed by tropical fruit and ripe mandarin, delivering a perfumed sniff. The palate has excellent weight and mouthfeel, with layers of ripe mandarin, lime, mango and tropical fruit flavours evident. Clean acid finish. Long aftertaste of spice, mango, lime and mandarin.
Cellar 3-4 years (2010-2011)
Alc/Vol: 12%
